Kellie Fedkenheuer joined Cotton & Company in 2010 as a staff auditor and was elected a partner with the firm in January 2019. Since joining the firm, Kellie has gained experience in participating in and managing audit, consulting, and litigation support engagements. As a key member of the firm’s litigation support practice area, Kellie has assisted government agencies, government contractors, and commercial clients with claims related to both public and private projects. Specifically, Kellie focuses on litigation support engagements related to construction projects and other contracts that concern fraud allegations.
Kellie has experience in providing expert witness testimony regarding claims related to governmental and commercial projects. She has assisted contractors and owners with preparation of claims and other support services related to termination, delay, and fraud allegations. Kellie is experienced in applying principles identified in the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and Office of Management and Budget (OMB) Circulars to determine cost allowability, and proper solicitation and procurement practices.
Kellie is an active, contributing member of multiple professional organizations, including the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE), and the Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants (VSCPA). The VSCPA recognized Kellie’s outstanding work as a VSCPA “Top 5 Under 35” award recipient in 2018. In addition, Kellie has served as an instructor for VSCPA since 2014. She teaches courses such as “Virginia Ethics,” which is an annual requirement for all Virginia Certified Public Accountants (CPAs).
Kellie received a B.B.A in Accounting with a minor in Information Systems from James Madison University in 2010. She is a CPA/Certified in Financial Forensics (CFF), and a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE).
