Job Description
Cotton & Company seeks an experienced IA Associate to assist the IA Manager and/or Partner with planning, reviewing, delegating and performing various system audits. Responsibilities will include reviewing policies and procedures; documenting work papers, demonstrating independent thought processes and sound judgment; and supervising and developing IA Staff Associates.
Required Skills
  • Assist the supervisor, manager or partner with planning work on assigned audits, system reviews or other related engagements.
  • Conduct testing and interviews and prepare acceptable workpapers, write-ups and memos.
  • Report audit findings to supervisor, manager or partner and make recommendations for the correction of unsatisfactory conditions.
  • Determine records or activities to analyze, the extent of tests to apply, and the workpapers to prepare for staff.
  • Review documents, records, reports and methods for accuracy and effectiveness.
  • Review workpapers of staff auditors and assist in delegating work to staff as needed.
Required Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college/university in Information Systems, Accounting Information Systems, Decision Support Systems, Business Information Technology, or Information Security Assurance
  • Minimum 1 year, up to 5 years of IT/IA audit experience, including experience performing vulnerability assessment and/or attack and penetration work
  • CISA or CISSP certification is highly desired
  • Federal government experience, knowledge of federal laws including OMB A-130, NIST Special Publications, and FISMA
  • Understanding of FISCAM and/or COBIT methodology.  Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) 404 experience is also helpful.
  • Knowledge of general and application controls
  • Demonstrated proficiency in interpersonal, analytical, oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to travel up to 25% annually
  • Ability to obtain a U.S. federal security clearance (U.S. Citizenship is required)
